East Staffordshire Pharmacists Association - Brief Interventions in Health Promotion
Wednesday 23rd September 2009, PCT offices Edwin House, Second Avenue, Burton.
Refreshments at 7pm – Session starts at 7.30pm
Under the Essential Service for Public Health in the Community Pharmacy Contract, each year pharmacies are required participate in six campaigns at the request of the PCT. This involves the display and distribution of leaflets provided by the PCT. In addition, pharmacies are required undertake prescription-linked interventions on major areas of public health concern, such as encouraging smoking cessation.
This training, arranged by the PCT’s Public Health Department and delivered by an expert Public Health Trainer will enable PHARMACISTS AND PHARMACY SUPPORT STAFF to undertake Brief Interventions in Health Promotion to support your contractual obligations above, in areas such as:
* Stopping smoking
* Weight management
* Increasing activity & exercise
* Reducing alcohol consumption
